About Your Reading Tutor

I have a passion for children and literacy. I was formally trained in the Orton-Gillingham Method and am a Certified Barton Reading and Spelling System Tutor. I’m also a mom of seven and have homeschooled for more than 20 years—which means I’ve taught a lot of lessons, tried a lot of curriculum, and learned along the way that sometimes the best thing you can do for your child is let someone else teach a subject! I have enjoyed working with all ages, from very young children to adults. Working with such a variety of students, I understand that struggling to read affects the student not only on an educational level but on an emotional level as well. I want to help every student to learn, grow, and thrive with a comprehensive approach to language and literacy using proven strategies, tools, and techniques.
